Costs and Charges

CFFM is a not for profit service and registered charity. We are pledged to make mediation available to all regardless of ability to pay. However we must obviously cover our costs to remain financially viable.

There are 3 main ways to fund mediation:

If in receipt of benefits or on a low income Legal Aid Information sheet.

This will be discussed with you before the first introductory session MIAM.

£500 per family for children’s matters

The Mediation Service will apply for this if mediation is going ahead – it is a very simple process.

MIAM Fee

£130 per person

This also includes the cost of a MIAM for the other person if they are willing to attend.

Mediation Session Fees per person

Discounted Rate

£135 per hour For those earning below the Living Wage threshold (under £26,436.80 gross per year)

Full Fee

£195 per hour For those earning the Living Wage or above

Children Matters Only
The £500 Voucher Scheme can normally be used to offset mediation costs (up to £250 per person).

 

Child Inclusive Mediation (CIM)

Child Inclusive Mediation allows children to meet safely with a specially trained mediator where appropriate.

CIM Fee £90 per session

The mediation voucher may also be used towards this cost where eligible.

 

Outcome Statement

At the end of mediation, a written summary can be prepared with the outcome of your mediation

Costs

FREE for children’s matters

£150 for financial matters (much more detailed)

If Mediation Does Not Proceed

• The other person does not attend, or
• Mediation breaks down

the relevant signed section of the Family Court application form can be provided. This is Included within the MIAM fee for the applicant/referrer(chargeable at £130 if requested by the other party)

FREE if Legal Aid applies

Payments:

All sessions must be paid in advance of the session via debit/credit card payment.

• Payment for the MIAM session is due upon booking.
• Mediation session fees must be paid prior to the session.

This can be done either online via the payment link that will be emailed to you, or by phone on 0161 763 8793.

 

CANCELLATIONS POLICY:

• A minimum of 2 working days’ notice must be given to cancel or rearrange an appointment. 

• If you cancel your appointment within this period or do not attend on the day, you will be charged £40.00 to cover the basic costs to the service.
